A look into different Daruma dolls throughout history, as practice and inspiration for New Year’s gifts that I made for friends.

Daruma dolls are often purchased at the beginning of the year, and people fill in one eye with a wish or goal in mind. Once the wish is fulfilled or the goal is achieved, they fill in the other eye. The process serves as a physical reminder of one's commitments and aspirations.
